Allows schools to take advantage of some or all of
FFELP offerings
Direct2FFELP allows agencies participating in the Federal
Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) to offer their student lending services
to schools that are currently using the Federal Direct Lending Program.
Direct2FFELP provides a simple web interface for secure
data communication between Direct Lending schools and FFELP lending agencies.
Through this software, schools can offer its students standard and alternative
loans from the FFEL Program in addition to the the Direct Lending Program
loans.
Can be used in strategy to transition
schools back to FFELP
This product will also help ease the transition of schools that want to
switch back to the FFELP from Direct Lending. Schools using Direct2FFELP
will be able to develop relationships with the FFELP agencies providing
them this software and the lending services.
Has minimal impact on schools no new software
to install
Without changing their tools or processes, school financial
aid offices can route their loan applications or change requests through
Direct2FFELP to a supporting guarantor or lender.
Process Direct Lending Files as FFELP loans through
CommonLine®
The FFELP agency will receive the request in the industry
standard CommonLine® 5 format. Likewise, responses to the school are
sent in CommonLine formatted files through Direct2FFELP, which processes
the information, and forwards it to the school in the Common Origination
and Disbursement (COD) record formats.
Direct2FFELP can operate as a standalone process, or can
be plugged into PTIs Priority eSBS for an even broader suite
of school-based loan management features, including:
- Web-based user interface
- Single point of operation for all loan functions
- Powerful standard and ad-hoc reporting on all loan information
- Integration with ISIR and FAMS data
- Built-in Meteor Access Provider software
