Impact Consulting Seminar
A consulting session to assess your objectives and goals
for the WSAD transition process. PTI will collect information, analyze your
environment, and offer ideas regarding how to have a successful transition.
Recommendations Document and Transition Plan
PTI engineers analyze your current and planned use
of J2EE technologies, client tools, team processes, migration paths, application
server set-up, etc. PTI prepares a transition document describing our
findings, recommendations, and approaches for your transition. This includes
a project plan for the approach that best meets your objectives.
Customized Training
Based on a pre-assessment of your team's skills, PTI
will work with you to select those training modules that will best prepare
your organization for WSAD. (See

Mentoring
PTI engineers will work with your staff to guide them
through the process of installing and integrating WSAD with your system—actually
executing the transition plan.

Prior to Week One
Pre-Assessment: Two weeks prior to the first
engagement, PTI will send you a survey that will help define the customized
training scheduled for week one.
Week One
Business Impact Consulting Seminar: PTI will
start out by meeting with you to assess your current WebSphere Studio
and VisualAge for Java environment. PTI will work with you to layout your
objectives and goals for the WSAD transition process. We will also be
collecting and analyzing information for the recommendation document and
transition plan.
Customized Training: PTI will work with you
to select a tailored mix of introductory and specialized
training from the lists below:
Introduction to WSAD Course—choose one
- 2-day, WSAD basic course (Java IDE) or
- 3-day, WSAD basic course (Java IDE and Web Development)
Additional WSAD Modules:
- 1-day, WSAD and Servlets
- 1-day, WSAD and Java Server Pages
- 1-day, WSAD and Extensible Markup Language
- 1-day, WSAD and Enterprise JavaBeans
- 1-day, WSAD and Web Services
- 1-day, WebSphere Application Server and J2EE directory

Week Two
Recommendations Document and Transition Plan:
PTI will develop a recommendation document and plan for your WSAD transition
and meet with you to discuss the findings, recommendations, and approaches.
You will decide on services to be performed by PTI and your staff during
week three.
Week Three
Customized Services: As part of our business
model, PTI strives to provide customized technology solutions using the
right mix of training, mentoring, consulting, and development. Based on
the assessment of your needs, PTI will provide transition services that
may include, but are not limited to:
- Additional training
- Mentoring the client during transition phase
- Transition work completed by PTI engineers
