Course Introduction:

WebSphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD) is replacing Visual Age for Java and WebSphere Studio to become the most complete J2EE integrated development environment (IDE).

This intensive four-day hands-on course is aimed at getting developers quickly up to speed on developing Web applications with IBM's WebSphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD). The tool combines the features of VisualAge for Java and WebSphere Studio into one complete J2EE development IDE. WSAD offers powerful integrated tools, editors, and wizards that allow for rapid development of EJB beans.

Units Included:

WS2001 Introduction to WebSphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD) - This unit introduces the basic aspects and functions of the WSAD Workbench, which is the user interface for Application Developer. The unit helps students get up to speed quickly on navigating the workbench, understanding perspectives, customizing their workbench environment, and using the WSAD tools and wizards.

WS2002 Advanced WSAD Development - This unit focuses on more advanced features and tools offered by WSAD. The students will create a simple Java Application and learn how to develop, debug, share their files, and test their code using WSAD. They will also learn how to manage data sources and profile their applications.

WS2004 EJB Development Using WSAD - This unit covers using WSAD tools to rapidly develop EJBs. The students are guided through the development process and gain knowledge of mapping approaches, deployment code, security, and xml editors. They also learn to test, debug, and export EJB applications.
